As a company, Tana Travel has been very happy to support the Uthando South Africa project.

Uthando (meaning love) South Africa is a registered Non-Profit Organisation and an Incorporated Section 21 Company, based in Cape Town. In addition, Uthando South Africa is a unique Responsible Tourism Initiative, providing a platform for tourists to not only contribute to social development projects but also to see and experience them.

Uthando South Africa is about giving with love, creating hope for a better future and about faith in humanity. It is about creating an international family of compassionate and generous people, who are committed to empowering and encouraging people and making a significant difference in the lives of the most destitute and marginalised communities living in Southern Africa. 

 Uthando South Africa provides a platform and infrastructure to raise funds from individuals, groups and organisations that have a keen interest in the people, environment and cultures in the region. The money generated supports a broad range of local community-based sustainable, innovative and empowerment projects with substantial and enduring value to the beneficiaries. The exposure of this programme to many people around the world facilitates a vital role of ongoing awareness creation, education and networking, creating further possibilities for growth and development

In visiting the projects falling under the Uthando South Africa umbrella, we do not offer the worldly traveller merely a township tour but an authentic cultural field trip, one which promises endless discovery and a chance to see, feel, learn, understand and most importantly to be inspired. One particular project that has been of interest to Tana Travel is the Hout Bay Music Project, http://www.musequality.org/houtbay.html 

This Project aims to give underprivileged children the chance to learn how to play music to a very high standard, that they otherwise would never be able to. Every holiday booking made through Tana Travel will ensure a contribution is made to Uthando so your ‘holiday’ really will make a difference to underprivileged people.
